Flu Vaccinations

Our clinics provide an immunisation service that includes all childhood immunisations:

At Ashgrove GP, we provide immunisations according to the National Immunisation Program schedule which includes immunisations in children at 2, 4, 6, 12 and 18 months, and 4 years, as well as adolescents and adults. This includes vaccines against a total of 16 diseases.

Flu shot for special groups

All children aged 6 months to below 5 years (new in 2020); everyone aged 65 and over; the Indigenous and Torres Strait Islanders aged 6 months and over; the pregnant women; and the healthy people at risk of severe influenza (such as cardiac disease, frequency of asthma, COPD), compromised immunity, chronic kidneys disease.

The risk of severe illness and influenza complications, such as bronchitis or pneumonia, rises. The National Immunization Program provides such people with influenza vaccine free of charge. If you have eligibility for your free vaccine contact your doctor, pharmacy or nearest vaccination center to make an appointment.

A referral fee can also be paid to certain people eligible for free vaccination – check with a vaccine provider.

There is an elevated risk of severe illness and complications of influenza, such as bronchitis or pneumonia. This is free of charge from the National Immunization Plan (NIP). Contact your doctor, pharmacy or nearest immunization center for an appointment if you have eligibility for your free vaccine.

Few people who are eligible for free vaccines – consult with a vaccine provider-may also be charged a referral fee.
